Debbie is an illustrator, born in Jakarta and now based in Amsterdam. She is trained in photography, but found her voice as a writer during her graphic storytelling studies. Her work starts with text: lines she's written, overheard, or collected from books and films. She notices what most people miss: a folded receipt, an unspoken feeling between strangers, elevator music nobody hears. From there she builds images that hold two things at once: grief and humour, devotion and doubt, comfort and the urge to leave. Having lived across Asia, Europe, and Australia, Debbie works mostly from memory, treating the everyday like an archive worth a closer look.
